Tulsa King ending explained: how every season ends

Each Tulsa King season ends with Dwight winning the war in front of him — and losing something he did not see coming. Here is what happens in every finale and why it matters for the next season.

Season 1 ending: the casino opens, then the handcuffs

Spoilers below.

In "Happy Trails" a 1997 flashback reveals why Dwight went to prison, Bodhi empties Waltrip's bank accounts, and Dwight's crew beats the Black Macadams at the Bred 2 Buck, where Dwight kills Waltrip. Three months later the casino is open and Dwight has made peace with Tina. Then the twist: Stacy, reinstated at the ATF, has him arrested for bribery, using the million-dollar flash drive he gave her as evidence. Season 2 opens with Dwight in jail and heading to trial.

Season 2 ending: Bevilaqua's bullet and a kidnapping

Spoilers below.

In "Reconstruction" Thresher hands Dwight his 18,200-acre weed farm as payment for saving his life, Mitch buys Donnie's dealership, and Vince replaces Chickie in New York. Chickie and Bevilaqua plot against Dwight — but at the Bred 2 Buck Bevilaqua shoots Chickie dead, and Dwight gives him the 50% stake he wanted. The final scene: masked gunmen burst into Margaret's home and take Dwight. Season 3 reveals they work for FBI agent Musso, who now has leverage over Dwight.

Season 3 ending: the raid on the Dunmire estate

Spoilers below.

In "Jesus Lizard" Jeremiah Dunmire kidnaps Joanne and demands the distillery. Cole Dunmire turns against his father and hands Dwight a blueprint of the compound, and the crew storms it at 3 a.m. Mitch rescues Joanne; Dwight catches Jeremiah, beats him and leaves him to burn for Theodore Montague's murder. Musso then delivers the federal alcohol licence — Dwight's reward for quietly handling the Deacon affair. Thresher wins the governor's race and offers Margaret a role, and Quiet Ray, who tried to have Dwight killed, is still out there.

Season 4 so far: the plane-crash cliffhanger

Spoilers below.

The season 4 premiere, "W.W.D.D." (What Would Dwight Do), ends with Margaret, Governor Thresher and their pilots unconscious on a private jet that goes down in the ocean, after a case of expensive wine delivered by sommelier Leonardo Timpone. With Thresher gone, Lieutenant Governor Amanda Clark takes over — and by episode 3 she is shutting down Dwight's businesses. The season finale arrives on December 18, 2026.
